I was commissioned as a Victoria wildlife artist to paint a pack of fierce looking timber wolves hunting at night under a full moon and the northern lights in a snowy Alberta forest. This winter wildlife painting has a bright cyan blue colour palette complimented with a rich brown in the wolves.
A black timber wolf (or gray wolf) is painted stalking forward and turning her head forward to smell the ground while her breath turns to mist in the cold. Behind her a gray wolf sniffs and listens for mice, ready to pounce, in a snowy meadow within this nightscape painting.
This original Alberta wildlife wall art shows a fierce Canadian wolf growling with his teeth bared and hackles raised with breath frozen in the air. Behind her a black colored wolf emerges from the shadows of black spruce and pine trees in a snow covered boreal forest.
The Spark studio in Sherwood Park was the setting where I finished this original wood panel acrylic painting. In the left foreground my sketchbook drawings of this Canadian timber-wolf artwork set in deep Alberta woods under a full moon with the northern lights compares with the painting in progress.
I am available for freelance. Can't wait for the next exciting project! Could be yours?
