Passage Past Cheam 18 by 24 inches, acrylic on wood panel. A flock of Canada geese transition in their journey of passage past Mount Cheam in Chilliwack, BC. I painted Mount Cheam in early spring with it’s slopes still kissed by snow while a serene meadow from my childhood visits to Popkum and Agassiz unfolds beneath its shadow.
The snowy peak of Mount Cheam in spring emerges through late morning clouds from an otherwise blue sky in this original landscape canvas wall art. Mount Cheam is also known in the Halqemeylem First Nations language as Lhilhequey meaning ‘resoak’ or ‘glacier’ for rehydrating food at the mountain’s lakes during berry harvesting trips.
I am available for freelance. Can't wait for the next exciting project! Could be yours?
