“Chinook at Tsusiat Falls” acrylic on canvas, 12 by 24 inches. This ocean split screen (underwater and above water) was hand painted as a commissioned gift for a Port Renfrew charter fishing company. The original artwork is a seascape that shows adult Chinook salmon in their ocean stage of life swimming near Tsusiat Falls off the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island, BC.
Large healthy chinook salmon swim right past the viewer in this underwater ocean split screen painting of a Vancouver Island seascape. It was important to show the salmon in their adult ocean phase of life as the artwork was for a fishing charter who fishes for the fish in this phase, not the often-seen iconic spawning phase at the end of their lives.
