"Kinship Keeper" 7 by 47 inches acrylic on canvas. I painted this wildlife abstract of a Giant Pacific Octopus as an up-close half dream half reality that I always hope to see whenever I am snorkelling in the ocean around Vancouver Island.
I painted the eye in this Giant Pacific Octopus artwork as inspecting and holding the viewer’s eyes for a moment. Having a horizontal barbell shaped pupil acting as a prism lets an octopus see chromatic aberration and focus on different wavelengths of light, including polarized light!
A close up of this original big wall canvas art shows a portrait of this curious Giant Pacific Octopus checking out the viewer as it glides over the British Columbia ocean floor. The large “nose” of the octopus is it’s mantle, which is more like it’s torso as it doesn’t hold the octopus’ brain but it’s organs, ink sac and more!
I am available for freelance. Can't wait for the next exciting project! Could be yours?
