"Kinship Keeper" 7 by 47 inches acrylic on canvas. I painted this wildlife abstract of a Giant Pacific Octopus as an up-close half dream half reality that I always hope to see whenever I am snorkelling in the ocean around Vancouver Island.
A close up of this original big wall canvas art shows a portrait of this curious Giant Pacific Octopus checking out the viewer as it glides over the British Columbia ocean floor. The large “nose” of the octopus is it’s mantle, which is more like it’s torso as it doesn’t hold the octopus’ brain but it’s organs, ink sac and more!
This acrylic painting captures the essence of a giant Pacific octopus in a striking close-up. The focal point of the piece is the octopus’s inquisitive intelligent eyes, which convey a sense of depth and curiosity. Surrounding them, the intricate textures of its mantle and funnel come to life with rich, fluid brushstrokes, revealing the subtle ridges and complexity of its skin.
