The story of Beverly Heights’ sports history is told on two murals that flank the entry of the sports program building, celebrating the community champions that developed and supported the programs from their inception to the present. These local sports stories and photos were researched to provide these murals with an artwork serving as a collective snapshot for decades of community involvement.
The two murals depict scenes with children and young people playing baseball and soccer on one artwork, and the Tom Cross hockey tournament with figure skaters on the other piece. These murals were possible thanks to the Beverly Heights Community League and the Olde Towne Beverly Historical Society receiving funding from the Edmonton Heritage Council, for the Living Local Grant.
