The BC Parliamentary Dining Room needed a small wall mural for their new take out coffee shop, the Parliamentary Grab N Go, that gave a fresh imaginative take while being respectful of the institution of the BC provincial parliament. As a result I painted a mural that blended colourful realism with graphic stylized lines and shapes that mixes foreground flowers, the BC Parliament Buildings, and a distant background with swirling movement.
The inspirational artistic style direction for this Vancouver Island mural used swirling movements. I wanted the paint to look like it was cleanly caught by the wind right when it was about to dry and taken for a ride. This windy carry over of paint also applied to the Government House, where the structural lines continue past the building in this Victoria mural. The lines and shapes of the BC Government House are carried on past their restrictive walls to move and dance with lines and shapes from the sky.
I am available for freelance. Can't wait for the next exciting project! Could be yours?
