I painted this BC coastal rain forest landscape as a quick almost impressionist action painting, mixed with my normal painting style. Portraying the atmosphere of yellow light in BC's coastal cedars, Douglas fir, and forest foliage is a favourite landscape subject of mine.

A study of yellow light came through in this coastal BC landscape painting, as volumetric sunlight streams into the rain forest between cedar and fir trees. My favourite part of this painting was smuggling in quick dashes of purple shade, near the diarylide yellow.
